La Maison Borel - A Museological Venue

The Maison Borel Foundation is a research center specialized in the field of museology. Located in Neuchâtel's lakeside village of Auvernier, it is housed in a 17th-century residence that underwent renovation in 2009-2010.

Every year the Foundation welcomes-by invitation or based on their application file-several graduate students, researchers, and national and/or international professors for a residency in their headquarters. The goal of such a residency is to enable them to:

• carry out research on subjects linked to the activities pursued by the Neuchâtel Museum of Art and History, the Institute of Art and Museology, and the History Institute of the University of Neuchâtel, or else related to the collections belonging to any of the cultural institutions located in the city of Neuchâtel and its outlying regions.
• present works dealing with the afore-mentioned subjects.
